Fundamental purpose of Tassawuf

The fundamental purpose is already mentioned above and it needs to be thoroughly grasped because it takes one closer to Allah سبحا ن ؤ تعا لئ to achieve “walayat-e- khasa” Sura Baqra Ayat 112.

“بَلَى مَنْ أَسْلَمَ وَجْهَهُ لِلّهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَلَهُ أَجْرُهُ عِندَ رَبِّهِ وَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ”

“Of course, whosoever submits his face to Allah, and is good in deeds, will have his reward wih his Lord, and there shall be no fear for such people, nor shall they grieve”

It signifies that one who seeks to please Allah سبحا ن ؤ تعا لئ only and all his acts are guided towards the same goal, he then acts in accordance with shariah, then Allah سبحا ن ؤ تعا لئ will reward him in the life hereafter and he shall have no fear on the day of resurrection as given in Quran. أَلا إِنَّ أَوْلِيَاء اللّهِ لاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

“Listen, the friends of Allah shall have no fear, nor shall they grieve.”

This means that be aware that friends of Allah سبحا ن ؤ تعا لئ (ulia Allah) will not be frightened or afraid on that day. Surah Aaraf ayat no. 35:

يَا بَنِي آدَمَ إِمَّا يَأْتِيَنَّكُمْ رُسُلٌ مِّنكُمْ يَقُصُّونَ عَلَيْكُمْ آيَاتِي فَمَنِ اتَّقَى وَأَصْلَحَ فَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ

“O children of Adam, if messengers from among you come to you conveying My verses to you, then, those who fear Allah and correct themselves will have no fear, nor shall they grieve.”
