Protecting Oneself from Bid'ah in Rabiul Awwal
English Bayan No. 407
The month of Rabiul Awwal and the day of Monday have a Takweeni Nisbat with Rasool Ullah ﷺ However, we do not engage in customary celebrations that people label as Eid. Eid is a specific Deeni and Islamic celebration. Since Islam has been perfected and completed as a religion no one now has the authority to make additions in Deen. Secondly there is no evidence that 12th of Rabiul Awwal is the day of the noble birth of Rasool Ullah ﷺ. There are various opinions about Rasool Ullah’s ﷺ birthday.
Rasool Ullah ﷺ had a very large group of companions, the Sahabah, who adhered to the examples and guidance of Rasool Ullah ﷺ in every sphere of life. Therefore we have a complete understanding about the do’s and don’ts in Islam. The only way to please Allah ﷻ is to follow Deen as taught by Rasool Ullah ﷺ and practiced by the Sahabah. Bid’ah is a crime because it opposes the Sunnah. It is very strange to make claims of love for Rasool Ullah and to engage in practices that are Bid’ah.
